Real Estate Agents provide a service that some people may want and appreciate. The issue is that too many of them leverage your ignorance of what service they actually perform to leverage from you compensation that far exceeds the service they provide, up to 30+ times, or 3000%+ for those % loving Realtors out there. While completely legal, too many of them still use subterfuge, obfuscation, and lies by omission to maximize their profit at your expense, thus a scam. I was recently scammed out of a potential $27,850 largely by subterfuge by omission and exploiting my ignorance. My mission is to prevent this from happening to you by "pulling back the curtain" on the buying and selling process. I wish to educate everyone on what you are actually paying for when you sign a contract with an agent to empower you to negotiate fair compensation for services rendered, or ideally give you the knowledge and confidence to buy and sell yourself. I also seek to warn and educate everyone on Realtors' predatory one-sided contracts and what it is they aren't telling you at your expense. In short, save millions of home owners and buyers from unnecessarily giving away tens of thousands of your hard earned dollars.

This list also includes companies that will help you find agents that are willing to negotiate their fees or simply do the service at a reduced rate. To be clear, I'm affiliated with none of them and never used these services, just pointing out all of the options for those that still want to pay for help in buying and selling their home.
Free Mortgage Planner & Calculator - I built this mortgage calculator initially for my own use. You can use this calculator to plan out your mortgage options and constraints. You can try different down payments, different interest rates, different durations (15, 20, 30 yr), input estimated insurance and taxes to determine your payment. You can determine the effect of purchasing points to lower your interest rate and how much they will cost you. You can see how much extra payments on the loan will affect your loan over time. You can also use this calculator to check the numbers that your loan broker gives you on loan quotes. Sometimes they tell you a rate but the rate they tell you is actually a rate that requires points buy down that they didn't disclose. You can use this as a transparency check. Just open up the link and "save a copy" to your google drive and use it freely, just put in your numbers!
